Your CrimsonCard can easily be replaced at any campus CrimsonCard office if it is lost, stolen, damaged, expired, or your name or department has changed. A new photo will be taken any time you replace or renew your
Accepted forms of payment include credit/debit card, Apple or Google pay and bursar billing for eligible students. Purdue in Indianapolis students are not eligible for bursar billing.
Current faculty, staff, and students: CrimsonCard renewals are available at no cost beginning 90 days prior to the expiration date of your current card. Expiring/expired CrimsonCards should be surrendered at the time a renewal card is issued.
Affiliates: Expiring affiliate CrimsonCards will cost $25 and requires a renewed authorization form to be completed by the University sponsor.
If your CrimsonCard is stolen, call (317) 274-0400 or deactivate it online for safety. A no-cost replacement card will be provided if you present an official police report/case number. Without this, there is a $25 fee, but you can get a refund of that fee by submitting the report/case number within 14 days at any CrimsonCard Office, or by emailing it to crimsoncard@iu.edu including your username and university ID.
If your CrimsonCard is lost, deactivate it online or call (317) 274-0400 immediately to ensure campus safety and personal security. A replacement card can be obtained for a $25 fee.
Malfunctioning CrimsonCards (worn magstripe, faulty smart chip) will be replaced at no cost. However, a $25 replacement fee will be incurred for visibly damaged cards (i.e. broken, chewed, hole punched).
If your name changes or you transfer to another department within IU, you can get an updated CrimsonCard at no cost by exchanging your current CrimsonCard for an updated one. If you no longer have your current CrimsonCard, a $25 fee will be assessed to receive an updated CrimsonCard.
For name changes, update your preferred name 24 hours before requesting a new card. Affiliates with a name change must provide a valid, government-issued photo ID with the new name.
